Information on ways for parents to implement mindfulness in their own parenting styles and patterns and information on making mandalas will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday and at noon on Thursday.
Mental health counselor Michelle Ontiveros will explain how parents can identify ways to implement mindfulness in their own parenting styles. Mindfulness can help children stay more centered and safe at home or away from home. Ontiveros is from Clovis.
Deborah Pace is going to show how to create mandalas based on her newest book which includes not only instructions and ideas, it has many designs you can print, copy and trace for making your own mandala. She’ll also show using different paper types to draw on. She’s from Riverside, California.
Information on making yarn pom poms, repurposing vintage book covers and preparing food with little garbage will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon on Tuesday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Crafter Maria Nerius will show off the hottest yarns by making pom poms, which is the latest craft trend. Not only are the pom poms easy to make, they use some of the latest fashion and home décor colors. She lives in Palm Bay, Florida.
Lauren Ferguson will show an easy way to repurpose vintage book covers for pennies on the dollar. They make a perfect keepsake for your travels. Ferguson is a mixed media artist and she is from Dacula, Georgia.
Christy Kabbani and Nicky Poloski are the owners of a community-supported agriculture food store and they are going to explain how they prepare and serve food at a local elementary school with little or no garbage. It’s quite a unique concept. They live in Naperville, Illinois.
