Club volleyball tryouts are scheduled for today at Yucca Middle School.

Tryouts will be 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. for girls in grades 6-8 and 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. for girls in grades 9-12.

Each participant is required to register in advance through USA Volleyball, which can be done at suncountryvb.org by following the “Juniors, Adults and Officials Registration” link. The club choice is High Plains Volleyball Club.

Fees are $30 for tryouts, and an additional $25 should the player commit to playing and a USAV membership. Players should have a medical release form and a USAV membership card to try out. Additional fees will apply for participation in the traveling teams or in the Clovis Women’s League that runs January through April.

The Eastern New Mexico men's soccer team will host a Winter ID Camp 10 a.m. Jan. 27 at Greyhound Stadium and the soccer practice fields.

The camp is for players in grades 9-12 to work with the ENMU coaching staff and showcase their talents in a variety of drills and workouts.

The camp includes two sessions, 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m.-4:30 p.m., with an on-your-own lunch break. Check-in will be 8:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. before the camp.

Athletes are expected to bring their own gear, including shoes for indoors in case of inclement weather. Water and athletic trainers will be avaiable on-site.

Activities will begin with drills and move to live action games, with remarks from head coach Jon Fridal and time for athlete to ask questions about what to expect at the collegiate soccer level.

Camp cost is $75, and online registration is available at enmusoccercamps.com.

The High Plains Cornhole Association is hosting a #CornholeforaCause holiday tournament 9 a.m. Dec. 8 at the Curry County Fairgrounds Pavilion.

Proceeds benefit the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.

Team entry fee is either $65, or $40 with each player bringing an unwrapped children’s gift of $10 in value.
