1969: Eastern New Mexico University's nationally recognized basketball team was fresh off an 83-73 win over the University of Albuquerque Dons.
ENMU's Greg Hyder scored 28 points, while teammate John Irwin pitched in 22.
The fast-breaking Greyhounds would go on to win the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics championship that March in Kansas City, Missouri.
ENMU beat Maryland State, 99-76, in the finals.
The University of Albuquerque closed in 1986. Its campus today is home to St. Pius X High School.
