ENMU women hold at 6th in poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —Following a Lone Star Conference split last week, the Eastern New Mexico women’s basketball team stayed in sixth placed in the D2SIDA South Central Regional Poll on Monday.

The Greyhounds (14-6), who defeated Cameron 68-67 Thursday and fell 75-71 at Midwestern State Saturday finished with 23 points.

Colorado Mesa remained on top, with five of the six first-place votes from sports information directors in the South Central Region — which includes the Lone Star, Rocky Mountain Athletic and Heartland conferences.

Angelo State took the other first-place vote and 51 points, ahead of Lubbock Christian (47), Westminster (44), West Texas A&M (40) and the Greyhounds.

The poll was rounded out by Tarleton State (21), Western Colorado (19), Texas A&M-Commerce (11) and Newman (7).

The Greyhounds start a four-game homestead this week with games Thursday against Texas Permian Basin and Saturday against Western New Mexico.
