CLOVIS - Fingers crossed, but motorists could be crossing the Prince Street Overpass later this week.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation is hopeful it can give the final thumbs-up this week on the $2.5 million repair to the 30-year-old bridge, which has been closed since August.
Manon Arnett, a public information officer with District 2 of the NMDOT, said the roadway needs to be striped and a final inspection needs to take place.
The DOT anticipates doing both of those things Thursday, Arnett said.
Budgeted work included replacement of the concrete approach slabs, sidewalk repair, a raised median, a metal pedestrian railing, wall barriers, repaired concrete, replaced abutments, a chain link fence, new lighting, an application of protective coating and paving.
