Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Club notes - April 7

Curry County Association of Educational Retirees

Our program featured a presentation by guest speakers Crystal Rodriguez and Sharon Null from Kindred Hospice Volunteer Service. Speaking first, Null told us what volunteer services could be awaiting us, should we decide to volunteer with their hospice: either office help or patient support.

There are opportunities to answer the phone, create goodies or socialize with patients. There is a Veterans Caring for Veterans Program as well.

Following Null’s talk, Rodriguez, a nurse at Kindred Hospice, spoke about what hospice is and what it offers: care in the home, focusing on quality of life and support for the entire family.

We invite all retired Curry County educators and staff to join us at K-Bob’s at 11:00 a.m. for lunch and 11:30 a.m. for the program. Our next meeting will be May 7 when we will hear from Clovis Municipal Schools Instructional Technology Coordinator Cindy Kleyn-Kennedy on “Capturing Kids Hearts.”
