Fun run/walk slated Saturday at Hillcrest

The third annual A.J. 5K Memorial Fun Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday at Hillcrest Park.

The race, in memory of Alexander James Velasco, is $25 to register, with registration at The Bank of Clovis, Crazy Beautiful Salon, Serendipity or online at http://www.active.com.

The packet pickup will be 9 a.m. at the park’s aquatic center, followed by the 10 a.m. run.

Color Dash run for Hartley House June 1

The Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office is hosting its third annual Color Dash fun run.

The event, a fundraiser for the Hartley House, will be June 1 at Hillcrest Park.

The run, which will begin at the zoo parking lot, will start at 9:15 a.m. with registration beginning at 8 a.m. More than 300 pounds of colored powder will be thrown during the event. While lawn blowers will be on site to blow excess powder off of runners at the end of the event, participants are encouraged to bring a towel or plastic to protect their car seat on the drive home.

Tickets are available online at eventbrite.com. Registration is $25 up until June 1, but anybody who signs up on or before May 1 receives a race T-shirt. T-shirts are available for $15.
