In brief - Roosevelt County starts loop project

The Roosevelt County Road Department will begin work on Mesilla Park Loop Off of South Roosevelt Road N beginning today.

This project is expected to be completed in two weeks, weather permitting, county officials said. The roadway is being enhanced to caliche from dirt as part of a Local Government Road Fund Grant.

Motorists are asked to reduce their speed and watch out for workers and equipment.

CCC will sponsor blood drive

CLOVIS — Clovis Community College will sponsor a community blood drive 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at its Health and Fitness Center gym.

Donors must have a valid photo ID and weigh at least 110 pounds. Appointments for 20-minute blocks or walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made online at bloodhero.com.
