Clovis to open iAcademy

CLOVIS — Clovis Municipal Schools plans to open its iAcademy in the fall. The district names its director of strategic learning on Friday.

Jimmy "Petie" Davis, who has been an alternative educational placement teacher at hte CMS Student Support Center since 2000, accepted the position, according to a release from the district.

Davis, who holds a bachelor's degree from Eastern New Mexico University and a master's from Lesley University, has also served the district as a coach for various sports at Clovis High and Gattis and Marshall middle schools.

The salary for the position was approved during the school board's April 23 meeting at $84,100.
