CLOVIS — Curry County will host a quick public hearing Tuesday to update residents on its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project.
Administrative Services Coordinator Doria Rey told The News that the hearing is intended to update citizens on what project was selected — road improvements to Curry Road 11 — and the county’s next steps, completing an application by the end of June.
The public hearing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday in the commission chambers at the Curry County Administrative Complex, 417 Gidding.
The Curry County Commission selected road improvements to Curry Road 11 between State Road 311 and Curry Road P during its March 19 meeting.
The commission previously selected a three-mile stretch of CR 11 for its 2018 CDBG project, but ultimately chose not to submit an application when cost estimates for the project came in nearly triple what the county was expecting.
The county can apply for up to $750,000 in CDBG funding, with a 10 percent local match.
