Lane closures scheduled

PORTALES — A four-mile stretch of U.S. 70 will have lane closures over the summer to allow for resurfacing work, according to a release from the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

The work will take place between mile markers 423 and 427, and will run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. The department anticipates finishing the project this summer, weather permitting.

Drivers are asked to adhere to temporary signage and watch for maintenance personnel working in the area.
