One killed, one injured in Monday crash

Accident occurred near Ross and Commerce between motorcycle, city sanitation truck.

CLOVIS — One woman was killed and a man injured Monday morning in an accident between a motorcycle and a city sanitation truck.

According to a release from Clovis Police Department Lt. Trevor Thron:

• Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Ross Street and Commerce Way at 8:34 a.m. for the accident. Upon arrival, they discovered Bobby Trujillo, 51, and Patricia Trujillo, 61, on the ground.

• Patricia Trujillo, the motorcycle passenger, died at the scene. Bobby Trujillo, the motorcycle driver, was airlifted to Lubbock.

• The driver of the sanitation truck was reported uninjured but shaken up, and taken to Plains Regional Medical Center for precautionary reasons. The driver was not identified.

• The accident remains under investigation, with no citations issued as of Tuesday morning.
