Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
ALBUQUERQUE — Representatives from various state government departments will be in one central location Saturday, as Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is hosting the first Cabinet in Your Community Event.
The first event will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Carpenters Local 1319 Union Hall in Albuquerque.
The event is intended to serve a matter of constituent needs, including child care assistance, food assistance program enrollment, employment assistance, immunizations, well-water tests, local business consultation, driver license processing and many other items.
“Effective constituent service is the beating heart of state government,” Lujan Grisham said in a release. “If we want to develop trust in state government, if we want to deliver on transforming this state, we’ve got to show New Mexicans we mean business. This event, which will not be the last time key members of our administration make themselves directly available to our constituents across the state, is a demonstration of our commitment to the people’s business. I have no doubt we’ll have many happy customers Saturday.”
The New Mexico State Police will also participate and offer services including background checks, child ID kit help, crash report requests and acceptance of conceal carry applications.
Residents who can't make the event in person can participate over the phone by calling 505-476-2200 during event hours.
Clovis Municipal Schools will open district facilities late Friday morning due to an employee event, according to a release from the district.
Employees will participate Friday morning in the district’s convocation, a back-to-school kickoff event preceding classes starting Monday.
Normal operations will resume at 11 a.m.
