CCC board to get president search update

CLOVIS — The Clovis Community College Board of Trustees will be updated on its search to replace former president Becky Rowley during their meeting today at the college.

The trustees are working with the Association of Community College Trustees to find a field of candidates, with the goal to have a new president hired in mid-October and starting in January. The association has conducted more than 500 searches for community colleges across the country.

The association is still accepting applications, and hopes to have five finalists presented to the board around Sept. 12-13.

Robin Kuykendall has been interim president since Rowley left for the president’s position at Santa Fe Community College. Kuykendall has indicated she had no plan to apply for the permanent position.

Other items on the agenda for the 8 a.m. meeting in Room 512 include:

• Results of the college’s Ruffalo Noel Levitz employee survey.

• Approval of the summer graduation list.

• A review of fixed assets and requests to delete some items from inventory.

• Items on roofing and parking lot improvements.

• An executive session to discuss the property the college had provided for Rowley at 1621 E. 21st St., followed by a tour at the conclusion of the meeting.
