Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Our people: A home of her own

My name is Sabrina Ramos. I was born in San Antonio, Texas, but I was raised in a nearby town called Lytle. I grew up there with my twin sister, Sam, younger sister, Stefani, and my younger brother, Damian. I met my husband, Ricardo, in 2014. I thought he was pretty cool, and he smelled good. We decided to get married shortly after his enlistment in the Air Force in 2016. We were stationed in Clovis, where we have been adults ever since.

Tell us about your pets:

We have a four-year-old Maltipoo named Bentley. He is fat and lazy, but that is okay with me. I don't need him to be anything else.

How did you meet your spouse?

I met my husband at McDonald's where he had been working with my twin sister, Sam. I would visit her during lunch break because she would get me a cheeseburger and fries. One day, I noticed this great looking guy at the front counter. I asked my sister about him. Sam was like our messenger. She would tell him things for me and vice-versa. She eventually gave him my number and we hit it off. We went on several dates and the rest is history.

What's your idea of a perfect day?

My idea of the perfect day would be sleeping in. Then wake up to my husband making pancakes because his are the perfect amount of puffiness. Then we watch movies and eat sweets. I love to relax all day. Maybe order some Chinese or Pizza Hut. If it rained outside, that would be cool. I am kind of a pluviophile (a lover of rain). This sounds like a great, lazy day with lots of food for a stomach ache later on.

If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?

If I could have a super power, it would be to be super funny! People treat you differently if you are funny.

Favorite quote?

"If the grass is always greener on the other side, it is probably getting better care." - Earl Nightingale.

What's an accomplishment you're proud of?

Being able to be independent and make my own sweet tea.

What would you like for your last meal?

It would really depend on my mood. Maybe I would want wings?

Maybe Chinese?

I am not sure, but we will see when the time comes.

What do you hope your life will be like in 10 years?

In 10 years, I hope to be living in a house that I can call my own. To be paying property taxes, and all that good stuff. I hope to have children that will ask me if I need help while washing the dishes. I hope to have a job that I'm happy to talk about and that helps pay for my "mom car." And I hope to finally have the bed set that I have been wanting for a long time.
