CCC to get presidential update

CLOVIS — The Clovis Community College Board of Trustees will receive an update on the college’s presidential search during their regular board meeting this morning.

The 9 a.m. meeting in Room 512 of the college is just over a week before the timeline expectation of the 13-person selection committee announcing five finalists to replace Becky Rowley.

Rowley left this summer to take the same position at Santa Fe Community College.

The board contracted the Association of Community College Trustees to do a nationwide search. The finalists are expected to interview in the first week of October, and the college hopes to hire somebody later that month to start in January.

Robin Kuykendall is serving as interim president, and is not a candidate for the position.

Other business on the agenda includes:

• Consideration of an application for $999,427 in Research and Public Service Programs dollars to enhance and replace the college’s Enterprise Planning system, which includes Student Information System functionality.

The college would combine with five other community colleges in the state on the project to address shared challenges and increase system efficiency.

The request includes $750,000 for the implementation provided by the state, and $249,427 in renewal and replacement funds coming from CCC.

• An executive session to discuss personnel matters and acquisition or disposal of property.
