Portales to consider approving agreement

PORTALES — The Portales City Council will seek approval of a memorandum agreement between the State of New Mexico Department of Transportation and the City of Portales during its regular Tuesday evening meeting.

The agreement would be for FY2020 Section 5311 for rural public transit funding.

The council approved the submission of a funding request for FY2020 Section 5311 during their Aug. 20 meeting. The request was for $340,340. Of that total, $208,161.70 of which would be supplied federally and $132,268.30 would be locally funded.

That request included $50,000 in capital funds for the purchase of an ADA accessible mini-van.

Other items on the agenda for the 6:30 p.m. meeting at the Memorial Building include:

• The council will present a 20-year service award to Fire Department Battalion Chief Steven C. Cain.

• A request to approve Resolution #19-20-10 to approve a speciel budget adjustment for Fiscal year 2019-2020.

• A request to approve Resolution #19-20-11 for the inspection of public records.

• A request to approve a Johnson Hill West rank rehibilitation and roof replacement change order.
