Clovis boys soccer team on roll

ARTESIA — Clovis’ boys soccer team is rolling.

Saturday, the Wildcats went on the road to Artesia and came away with a 2-0 victory. It was their seventh straight game without a loss; they are 6-0-1 since Aug. 30. During that stretch, the ’Cats have outscored their opponents 18-4.

Despite the dominance those numbers indicate, Saturday’s victory came in especially dramatic fashion, as Diego Perez scored both Clovis goals within the last five minutes of the game.

Wildcat goalie Bruno Armendariz recorded the shutout.

Clovis (7-2-1) returns to action Friday with a 4 p.m. game at Valley. The Wildcats play again Saturday morning (11 a.m.) at Cibola, and will be home to face Portales next Tuesday, beginning at 6 p.m.
