PORTALES — A man charged with killing a Portales woman in 2018 has been convicted of second-degree murder.
Gerardo Marquez, 35, will face up to 16 years in prison at sentencing.
A Portales jury deliberated about 30 minutes Friday before delivering the verdict.
Marquez was on trial for the April 19, 2018, death of Erika Zamorano in Portales.
