Events center celebrating 10 years

CLOVIS — The Curry County Events Center celebrates 10 years of service this Saturday with free food, music, games and more.

The event will be free with attractions for all ages including a corn hole tournament, lawn mower races, a car show, a battle of the bands, a lip-sync contest, bouncy houses and an appearance from the Fire Department’s Fire Safety House.

The battle of the bands feature nine local and regional bands, each competing for $5,000 in cash prizes.

Free water and hot dogs will be available from 4 p.m. to whenever supplies run out. Food vendors will also be in attendance.

Things kick off with the preliminary round of the tractor races beginning at 6 p.m. Friday night. The main celebration goes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, with the finals for the races going from 1-4 p.m. Saturday.
