Human remains found in vehicle

Law officers in Roosevelt County have found human remains in the trunk of a burnt vehicle, Roosevelt County Sheriff Malin Parker confirmed on Thursday afternoon.

Parker declined to say when or where the remains were found, but District Attorney Andrea Reeb said the region's Major Crimes Unit was activated on Wednesday afternoon.

“This is being investigated as suspicious,” Parker said. “And we will not release anything further as the investigation is ongoing.”

Reeb said she is not aware of any arrests or charges. She referred additional questions about the investigation to Parker.
