CCC to receive update on president search

CLOVIS — Following what was easliy its busiest week of 2019, the Clovis Community College Board of Trustees goes right back at it Monday morning, with its October meeting set for 8 a.m. at CCC Room 512.

The meeting was originally scheduled for last Wednesday, but the trustees moved it due to their weeklong interviews of five finalists for the college’s presidential position. Each weekday included a special board meeting that was essentially a two-hour closed-door interview with that day’s finalist.

Ray Mondragon, board secretary and chair of the search committee, will provide an update about the progress of the search. That will be immediately followed by an executive session to discuss personnel matters. The board also has a special meeting scheduled for 8 a.m. Oct. 16, at which point it may hire a president to take over in January.

Other items on the Monday agenda include:

• Informational items on the college’s Title V individual and cooperative grants.

• A presentation on the college’s Cultural Arts Series.

• A review of the campus security report. Five incidents were reported on campus all of 2018.

• Appointment of advisory committee members. The appointment list includes over 200 people across 14 different committees.

• Fee changes for the fall 2020 semester. Only three fee changes are recommended — the diploma fee going from $30 to $40, the diploma replacement fee from $20 to $25 and the course fees for lifeguarding (HLED 1150) from $55 to $58.
