Curry to hold special meeting

CLOVIS — The Curry County Board of Commissioners will be holding a special meeting Tuesday at 9 a.m. where it will receive a report from the Road Department and vote on an application to install fiber optic cable on Curry roads.

The application would cover work, excavation, boring, cross cuts and other cuts by Plateau Telecommunications to install fiber optic cable on Curry Road 7, Curry Road L, Curry Road 5, Curry Road 6, Curry Road M and Curry Road N.

The board will also discuss a request for direction from County Clerk Annie Hogland on a resolution designating the locations for Election Day polling places.

The Youth Recreation Building, which is one of the designated polling places listed in the resolution, is undergoing construction work that will not be completed before Election Day.

Hogland suggested using the nearby City of Clovis Aquatic Center as an alternative location and said that the city is willing to accommodate the change.

There will also be action on the Curry County Vehicle Accident Prevention Program policy.
