Cutaway applique, collaging walls ahead on show

Information on cutaway applique, manifesting techniques and collaging walls will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Thursday (all times Mountain).

Cutaway applique is a technique that makes it easier to stitch shapes that are narrow, are very small, have multiple points or would be hard to handle if cut out in the normal way. Designer, author and teacher, Becky Goldsmith will demonstrate how to do this technique. Her business is Piece O’ Cake and she’s from Sherman, Texas.

Author and manifesting coach Tonja Waring says that the reason most people don’t have what they want is because they haven’t been taught to ask for help and the reason they don’t ask is because they don’t know what they want. She’ll explain what she means by this. Waring lives in Celina, TX.

Interior decorator Cassidy Self will demonstrate how to collage a wall. She suggests starting with a theme, then working from one lower edge to the opposite side. She’ll share some tips and techniques to hang accessories that will also make decorating easier. She is the manager of Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Portales.

Information on time saving techniques for quilting and homestyle cooking will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” noon Tuesday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Meryl Ann Butler is an author and quilter, and she’s going to share some time saving techniques for quilting based on the concepts in her book on making a quilt in 90 minutes. She’ll also show several finished quilts made with these techniques. She lives in Norfolk, Virginia.

Former, Extension Home Economist, Connie Moyers will demonstrate “Homestyle in a Hurry.” She explains that homestyle means cooking like your mother or grandmother used to do, but with new shortcuts, it can be done much quicker and easier. She lives in Clovis.
