ENMU women's soccer drops pair in Texas

A visit to Texas ended up not too friendly for Eastern New Mexico, as the women’s soccer team suffered a pair of losses at Texas Woman’s and Dallas Baptist.

The losses, 4-0 against Dallas Baptist Thursday and 3-1 at Texas Woman’s Saturday, knocked the Green and Silver to 4-3-1 with a 1-3 Lone Star Conference mark.

The Greyhounds will return home for a pair of games this weekend, 7:30 p.m. Thursday against St. Edward’s and 1 p.m. Saturday against Angelo State.

Against Dallas Baptist — Dallas Baptist, ranked No. 13 in Division II, had four different goal scorers and two goals on penalty kicks, while holding the Greyhounds to just one shot on goal and three shots total.

Whitney Dockweiler had eight saves for the Greyhounds.

Against Texas Woman’s — Abigail Martinez assisted on Hannah Schneider’s game-winner five minutes into the second half, and added an insurance goal on a penalty kick in the final minute, as the Pioneers outshot ENMU 20-7 (8-4 on goal.

Kaylee Reiketa posted the opening tally 34 minutes in, but Taylor Fogle sent the Greyhounds into the half with a tie on an unassisted goal in the 45th minute.
