Germ-fighting supply drive
Through Oct. 31, the Roosevelt County Health Council will be collecting disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, and disinfecting spray in an effort to help fight the flu and other illness.
Collected donations will be distributed to public school teachers in Dora, Elida, Floyd, and Portales schools.
Donation locations in Portales include Portales City Hall, 100 W. First St .; Roosevelt County Courthouse, 109 First St .; Roosevelt County Public Health Department, 1515 W. Fir; and the Portales Municipal Court, 520 W. Second St.
In Clovis, donations may be dropped off at the United Way of Eastern New Mexico office located within Matt 25, 1200 N. Thornton.

Trek for Trash
The city of Clovis will host the annual Trek for Trash from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 2. Participants may begin signing up at 7:30 a.m. at the Parks and Recreation Department, 500 Sycamore.
Groups will leave out at 8 a.m., clean up neighborhoods until 11:30 a.m., and then return to Parks and Rec for a pizza lunch. All participants will receive a t-shirt.

Reality Check Day
This is scheduled Oct. 23 at the Clovis High School Freshman Academy, 1400 Cameo St.
The event brings the reality of adult financial responsibilities to life through a day of experiments with personal economic possibilities. Volunteers are needed to assist with the all-day event.
Morning shifts, afternoon shifts and full-day shifts are available.

Pumpkin Patch
The Altrusa Club of Clovis will be hosting its annual Altrusa Pumpkin Patch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The club will have pumpkin patches set up behind the North Plains Mall, 2809 N. Prince, and at Big Lots, 820 E. 21st St.
Please bring three cans of food for donation and pick out your fall pumpkin.
Donations collected will benefit the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico.

Arts and crafts vendors
Clovis Meals on Wheels has scheduled its annual Arts and Crafts Fair on Nov. 2 at Clovis Community College, 417 Schepps Blvd. It is seeking vendors to participate in the fair.
Vendors may set up the afternoon before or on Nov. 2 prior to the doors opening at 9 a.m. Tear down will take place at 3 p.m. following the close of the fair.
