Memorial pavers being sold

PORTALES — The Roosevelt County War Memorial Committee is selling walkway pavers at the Roosevelt County War Memorial, located on the Roosevelt County Courthouse square, with installation prior to Veterans Day. Orders placed before 5 p.m. Friday, according to a release from the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce.

Engraved pavers can be purchased in honor of someone who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The price for the 1.75-by-7.75-inch paver is $125 and includes up to five lines that can include things such as name, rank, dates of service, where served, etc. A form to fill out for the inscription can be picked up at the Roosevelt County Chamber, 100 S. Ave. A in Portales.

The donation-funded memorial began as a project of the Portales High School Class of 1958, and was dedicated on Memorial Day 2012.
