Curry to consider pair of ordinances

CLOVIS — The Curry County Commission will consider a pair of ordinances on tracking various tall structures in the county and regulating the movement of manufactured homes.

Public hearings for each ordinance will come during the 9 a.m. Tuesday meeting at the county’s administrative complex.

Oridnance 2019-05 calls for the county to track any and all commercial wireless telecommunication faciilities, wind towers, wind generators, cell towers and other similar facilities built or constructed in the county.

The ordinance would require an application with the specific location, dize and other pertinent data, including the owner and operator names and contact information. According to the ordinance, the tracking is needed for proper assessment of property and emergency service capabilities.

Ordinance 2019-06 calls for no manufactured home originating in the county to be moved unless it is up to date on property taxes.

Other items on the Tuesday agenda include:

• Requests to move the Dec. 17 commission meeting to Dec. 19, move the Jan. 7 commission meeting to Jan. 14 and cancel the Jan. 21 meeting due to conflicts with the legislative session.

• A two-year agreement with Landmark Title or remote access to county records.

• Procalamations for November and Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and Nov. 17 as Shad Mayfield Day in the county.

• A request to approve a road project on Curry Road 7 between U.S. 70 and N.M. 467. The $1.458 million project includes a county share of $72,900.

• A request to appoint road viewers for consideration of the closure of Curry Road 38 between Curry Roads E and F. The agenda also includes the withdrawal of a request to close C$38 between Curry Roads F and G.
