PORTALES — A Portales native is scheduled to take part in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday in New York City.
Rebecca Lee, currently attending South Plains College, will be one of the parade participants for her second time, according to her grandmother, Barbara George of Portales.
Lee and her sisters received a slot last year following submission of an audition tape. She decided to do a solo audition this year because her sisters didn’t want to miss basketball games.
Lee, who is in New York City for practice, will be one of 40 pom girls performing following 368 cheerleaders. The pom girls will be in a white Macy’s uniform with green trim. She is the daughter of Bruce and Tina Lee of Floyd and the granddaughter of Mary Lee of Floyd and George.
