Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Longtime Clovis police Capt. Roger Dial died Friday following a battle with cancer.
The following tribute was written by Kristi Sneed, a longtime family friend.
Man, this has been a tough day. We are going to miss this dude so much.
He's been a part of my life since I can remember. He and my husband Breck grew up down the street from each other and shared so many fun times.
Our hearts are absolutely crushed at the fight he's endured recently but we're overjoyed that he is with Jesus.
His family feels like our own family. This is a rough one.
This is how I will always remember Roger - leading.
He was always leading something - the head of the parade, the one escorting the football team, the guy heading a committee at church, the one plotting the shenanigans. He was typically in charge.
The best part of being friends with Roger was how much he truly cared for us. He was always available with advice, kept a watchful eye on my kids, and meant it when he said if you needed anything to call him.
I've witnessed him come to the rescue for countless friends, but more importantly for people he didn't know.
We will miss you here in this life, Roger, but sure look forward to seeing you in heaven.
- Kristi Sneed
