Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Chamber of commerce banquets are fast approaching, with both the Portales and Clovis banquets a little more than two weeks away.
Tickets for the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce banquet are available for a little more than another week. The Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce’s banquet has no deadline on ticket availability, but Executive Director Karl Terry urges chamber members to buy tickets as soon as possible to help the event run smoothly.
• The Roosevelt banquet is scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Yam Theater, and is themed ”A Decade in Time, Celebrating 2010-2019.”
Seats are $35 each or $250 for a table of eight. Michael Thompson is scheduled to provide musical entertainment.
Tickets are available at the chamber at 219 S. Main in Portales or online at:

The banquet will feature the chamber’s standard awards — for the top citizen, volunteer, business and chamber ambassador, along with the Heart award, Cannon community partners award and the lifetime achievement award.
The banquet serves as the ceremonial passing of the gavel from current chamber President Thom Moore to 2020 President Greg Southard.
