Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Shannon Jackson has worked for Curry County for 15 years. She moved to Clovis with her husband after living in Albuquerque for 25 years.
She is a senior account specialist.
What is your favorite thing about this career?
Working with numbers and putting puzzles together. I quickly learned I'm not a people person, numbers are my thing. I've always worked in accounting and loved it.
Do you have any hobbies?
When I lived in Albuquerque my daughter and I were on a balloon chasing crew for 11 years. I became the crew chief eventually and we got to meet a lot of interesting people.
Your proudest accomplishment?
My marriage. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 47 years. I'm also proud of my daughter and her family. I have two grandchildren, a boy, and a girl.
What are two of your pet peeves?
People not taking responsibility for their actions is one - when something goes wrong and it's always someone else's fault. My second one is people forgetting to treat others the way they would want to be treated.
Favorite three-word sentence?
Do what's right.
What are you most grateful for in life?
My family and my health.
If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
My mother and father. I lost them when I was young. I would want to visit with them and get them caught up. I know they are, but it would still be nice.
