Yucca seventh-grade boys split pair on road
Yucca’s seventh-grade boys basketball team, thanks to a big third quarter, defeated Marshall 40-27 Monday night on the road.
Johnny Saiz led a balanced effort with nine points, while Brayden Eldridge added eight and Maddox Keith seven for the Chaps.
The Chaps lost only the fourth quarter by an 8-6 count, and outscored the Kittens 11-2 in the third.
The team was coming off of a loss Jan. 11 at Gattis, 40-30. The Cubs took control with a 20-4 fourth quarter.
Cameron Millow led the Chaps with 10 points, while Eldridge added six.
The Yucca seventh-grade girls team was also in action this week, topping Portales B 22-12 on Thursday.
