County discusses e-waste recycling

FORT SUMNER — De Baca County commissioners discussed the potential of hosting an annual free day for e-waste recycling at the county solid waste transfer station.

Commission Chairman Scot Stinnett said the growth in the use of computer-based devices has led to a rapidly escalating need for disposal of obsolete devices and that recycling offers the best solution.

Stinnett said in talking with solid waste facility manager Bill Moulton, there is some recycling value for e-waste. Stinnett asked the department’s office manager Tauna Rogers to look for a recycling company that would work with the county on the issue.
