Cannon implements changes for base facilities

No confirmed COVID-19 cases, but base is monitoring 37 individuals with recent travel.

CANNON AIR FORCE BASE — Cannon Air Force Base has closed some offices to base personnel and moved away from face-to-face interactions in several others.

The base posted changes to its Facebook account Tuesday afternoon.

Cannon has no confirmed COVID-19 cases, but is monitoring 37 personnel who have done overseas travel.

Among the changes:

• All dining establishments are take-out only.

• The following buildings are closed: Landing Zone, base theater, PT test center, education center, indoor fitness center, youth center, community center, auto skills center, FTAC, WAPS testing, outdoor recreation/ITT.

• The Public Affairs office is closed and previously scheduled studio appointments are postponed. Information will be distributed via the Cannon Facebook page.

• The finance office is offering virtual services, with exceptions on a case-by-case basis. For assistance, call 575-268-3376 or email [email protected]

• Non-essential matters can be directed to [email protected] or 575-219-1816.

• Worship services at the base chapel are canceled and the chapel is minimally manned. Information: 575-784-2253.

• The Commando Ready Center In-Processing is closed. Newly processed airmen can work virtually with the finance office by calling 575-468-3376.

The base also has a 24-hour COVID-19 public health hotline at 575-784-4926.
