Schools offering free meals

Public schools in Curry and Roosevelt counties are offering free meals during the state-mandated school shutdown.

n Clovis Municipal Schools: Breakfast and lunch available to students, free of charge, this week and March 30-April 3. Meals will not be provided during spring break March 23-27.

All school cafeterias, with the exception of the iAcademy at Lincoln-Jackson, will be open for food pick-up for anyone 18 and under from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the same time and will include fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and milk.

Clovis' revised menu is as follows:

Wednesday: Breakfast, egg/sausage/cheese burrito; Lunch, mini cheese ravioli

Thursday: Breakfast, French toast; Lunch, corn dog, tater tots

Friday: Breakfast, Frudal; Lunch, bean and cheese burrito

March 30: Breakfast, pancake on a stick; Lunch, hamburger, tater tots

March 31: Breakfast, yogurt and graham cracker; Lunch, chicken nuggets, tater tots

April 1: Breakfast, egg/sausage/cheese burrito; Lunch, mini cheese ravioli

April 2: Breakfast, French toast; Lunch, corn dog, tater tots

April 3: Breakfast, Frudal; Lunch, bean and cheese burrito

• Portales schools: Meal pickup will take place at Portales High School (east cafeteria door) and Lindsey-Steiner Elementary (west cafeteria door) 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. weekdays. All students of Portales Municipal Schools and preschool-aged siblings, along with students of other Roosevelt County schools, can pick up meals. Breakfast and lunch are provided at the same time.

• Dora schools: "Grab and go" meals are available for students Monday–Thursday during the three weeks school is out. Please contact the office with names of students so the cafeteria can be prepared at 575-477-2211.

• Elida schools: Elida Schools will offer breakfast and lunch to all students Monday-Thursday for the duration of the shut-down. The meals will be located in the district's front office from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. Please call the main office at 575-274-6211 and leave a message by 8 a.m. if you plan to come get meals for your students so the school can be prepared but avoid food waste.

• Floyd schools: Free breakfast and lunch will be offered 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m. each day to all students of Floyd schools and pre-school age siblings. Both meals will be served at the same time. Information: 575-478-2211.

• Grady schools: The district is working directly with families to deliver food boxes to homes. Information: 575-357-2192.

• Melrose schools: Grab and go meals will be provided 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Monday-Friday for Melrose students and their younger siblings. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the same time. Access will be at the southwest corner of the cafeteria. Information: Brian Stacy, 575-760-6465.

• Texico schools: Starting Monday, after the conclusion of spring break, grab and go breakfast and lunch meals will be served 9 a.m-11 a.m. Monday through Thursday until April 2. Information: 575-482-3801
