“Funny, You Don't Look Autistic” by Michael McCreary: Like many others on the autism spectrum, 20-something stand-up comic Michael McCreary has been told by more than a few well-meaning folks that he doesn't "look" autistic. But, as he's quick to point out in this memoir, autism "looks" different for just about everyone with autism spectrum disorder. Diagnosed with ASD at age five, McCreary got hit with the performance bug not much later. During a difficult time in junior high, he started journaling, eventually turning his pain into something empowering — and funny. Funny, You Don't Look Autistic is the Big Library Book of the month and connects readers to the same book at the same time without any waitlists or hold. Check it out and join the book club.

“The City We Became” by N.K. Jennison: In Manhattan, a young grad student gets off the train and realizes he doesn't remember who he is, where he's from, or even his own name. But he can sense the beating heart of the city. In the Bronx, a Lenape gallery director discovers strange graffiti scattered throughout the city, so beautiful and powerful it's as if the paint is literally calling to her. In Brooklyn, a politician and mother finds she can hear the songs of her city. And they're not the only ones. Every great city has a soul. New York? She's got six.

“The Year of Less” by Cait Flanders: In her late 20s, Cait Flanders found herself stuck in the consumerism cycle that grips so many of us. When she realized that nothing she was doing or buying was making her happy — only keeping her from meeting her goals — she decided to set herself a challenge: she would not shop for an entire year. The Year of Less documents Cait's life for 12 months during which she bought only consumables: groceries, toiletries, gas for her car. The Year of Less will leave you questioning what you're holding on to in your own life — and, quite possibly, lead you to find your own path of less.

“If I Never Met You” by Mhairi McFarlane: When her partner of over a decade suddenly ends things, Laurie is left reeling — not only because they work at the same law firm and she has to see him every day. When news of her ex's pregnant girlfriend hits the office grapevine, taking the humiliation lying down is not an option. Then, a chance encounter in a broken-down elevator with the office playboy opens up a new possibility. Laurie and Jamie begin to flaunt their new couple status, to the astonishment — and jealousy — of their friends and colleagues. But there's a fine line between pretending to be in love and actually falling for your charming, handsome, fake boyfriend.
