CLOVIS — The Curry County Commission will hear an update on construction for the Curry County Adult Detention Center when it meets Tuesday morning.

The field report from SDV Construction indicates construction is expected to finish around April 27, with the punchlist to be completed around mid-May.
Other agenda items include:
• A capital improvements request for numerous renovations and items for the Curry County Fairgrounds.
The $118,000 in requests includes a used water truck, misters for the livestock barns, portable coolers, a tractor, a riding mower, a gooseneck equipment trailer, an outdoor speaker/public address system and storage/shipping containers.
Untagged capital improvements include grandstand painting and air conditioning repairs for the Curry County Events Center.
• A design for the parking lot in the 800 block of Main Street.
The illustration indicates 66 parking spots, with about 25% of the lot dedicated to green space.
• A request to allow hazard pay for county employees excluded from paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
• Purchase of three vehicles for the Curry County sheriff’s office, to be funded through savings in salaries, fuel and liability insurance.
• A two-year contract with Holcomb Law Office, beginning May 1, for collective bargaining and legal services. Collective bargaining and legal services will be billed at $195 per hour, with administrative services of $45 per hour. Any on-site visit will include a three-hour minimum charge.
