Letter to the editor: Compared to politics of fear, virus is nothing

I was wearing a face mask grocery shopping the other day. I wish I had a sign on my back expressing my ignorance and accompanying biases.

The sign would read: I am wearing the politically correct mask of surrender to my socialist governor and her liberal drone army. Thank you, Mr. President, for showing them the way, then green-lighting them. Some education would have been sufficient but the need to express power exceeds human rights and needs.

It also came to mind that my purchases would deprive others of their needs. Then I realized that deprivation might be the new norm. How can we not continue the logic and excuse for a lockdown, if not for this SARS variant, for all viruses and bacteria and other dangers to life? We know the fatuous liberals and their ruling class masters want us locked down.

There is some irony in their current actions. I am an elderly white male, the perfect candidate for leftist termination. I’m physically past being a good slave. This virus is not nice to elderly males versus other groups. It’s a close thing so I might be getting too close to identity politics. Yet here I am being protected therefore will get the blame.

Never mind that I can live or die by the care I choose for myself. Of course, that’s out the door because the virus is my fault if it infects people.

You would think my purpose is to hurt and kill everyone I can come close to. I don’t think this is the case but liberal-isms and the power crazed tell me otherwise.

Isn’t all this my fault? I have allowed the politics of fear and political correctness to gain control. The virus is nothing compared to what could come.
