Meal services to be consolidated

CLOVIS — Effective Monday, Clovis Municipal Schools will consolidate some of its to-go meal service for school-aged children.

The move was announced Thursday in a release with several small updates on school matters.

According to the release, Gattis Middle School will be eliminated as a meal pickup site. Individuals who have picked up meals there are encouraged to go to Barry Elementary, located 1.4 miles to the south of Gattis along Thornton Street.

Other updates provided by the school included:

• Grades for students in K-8 will not decline lower than they were when school closures were ordered by the state, but the students can improve those grades during the learn-at-home period. Seniors have until June 19 to complete graduation requirements.

• Sales of the Plainsmen, the Clovis High School yearbook, are available at the clovis-schools.org website. A distribution plan is yet to be determined.

• The district will continue its “Friday Night Lights” spirit gesture, turning on the lights at Leon Williams Stadium from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Friday.

• The district is working on internet access and music sharing initiatives, but did not have specific details.
