Grand jury indicts former Portales couple

PORTALES — A Roosevelt County grand jury has indicted a former Portales couple on charges related to furniture missing from Ashley’s furniture store.

Darius Vonschriltz, 25, now of Las Cruces, is charged with larceny over $20,000, possession of stolen property over $20,000, tampering with evidence and seven counts of disposing of stolen property.

Kekoa Vonschriltz, 25, also of Las Cruces now, was indicted on a charge of possession of stolen property over $20,000.

Prosecutors allege Darius Vonschriltz stole furniture and home decor between June 2019 and March, when he worked at the Ashley’s store in Portales.

Darius Vonschriltz faces 32 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Kekoa Vonschriltz faces nine years in prison if convicted.

Neither suspect responded to messages from The News seeking comment.
