Clovis residents part of graduation
SANTA FE — Three Clovis residents were part of the New Mexico Connections Academy’s statewide graduating class Friday, according to a release from the school.
Timothy Davis, Allyson Dickerson, and Kianna Sena of Clovis were among 166 graduating seniors celebrated in the ceremony held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The release said among the graduating class, 42% plan to attend a two- or four-year college, 19% will enter the workforce and 10% plan to attend vocational or technical school. The class earned more than $320,000 in combined scholarships.
The academy is a tuition-free virtual public school serving approximately 1,100 students in grades 4-12.
Wildcadettes to hold tryouts
CLOVIS — In alignment with New Mexico Activities Association guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Clovis High School Wildcadettes dance team will hold a clinic and tryouts later this month.
The CHS Lego Gym will hold the June 23-24 clinic and the June 25 tryouts. The gym will be accessible through the alley on the west side of the CHS campus.
Due to capacity restrictions, clinic and tryout times must be scheduled by calling coach Kym Cordova at 575-799-4234.
The dance program is still lining up middle school tryouts.
