A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m. today for Curry and Roosevelt counties.
Chances of rain are about 60 percent, but the National Weather Service also warns, “Main threats are large hail and strong wind gusts.”
Sustained winds are expected to be out of the east at 15 to 25 mph.
Rain chances continue into Tuesday, when the high temperature for eastern New Mexico is expected to be in the low 80s.
