Opinion: Gluten-free snacks ahead on show

Information on developing a person’s uniqueness, some of the newest and healthiest gluten-free snacks and three ways to incorporate milk, yogurt and cheese into your daily meals will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Thursday (all times Mountain).

K. C. Cornwell, owner of G-Free Foodie, will share some of the newest and healthiest gluten-free snacks now available. Even if a person isn’t gluten-intolerant, the products now available are good for every member of the family. She’s from Madera, California.

Americans are falling short of their dairy recommendations and Sarah Ryan, a registered dietitian nutritionist with DairyMAX, will suggest three ways to incorporate milk, yogurt and cheese into your daily meals. These three food items provide nine essential nutrients which help maintain healthy weight and improve over-all diet quality.

Lisa Rojas is a mixed media artist and designer, and she’s going use a Big Shot cutting machine to make a birthday gift card holder and then decorate it with rubber stamps and stickers. Her company is Stampin’ Queen Creations in Victorville, California.

Author and quilter Meryl Ann Butler is going to demonstrate some clever time savers for quilting, and they are all based on her 90-minute quilt technique. Butler is from Norfolk, Virginia.

Mini albums equal maximum fun. They also make a great gift or a unique keepsake of a specific event, trip or even a person. Kristine Widtfeldt will show how to create your own eclectic album using a variety of shapes and sizes of paper. She’s was formerly with Close to My Heart in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Creamy banana walnut oatmeal

1 cup 1% milk

2 packets instant oatmeal

1/2 ripe banana, mashed

1/2 tbsp. chopped walnuts

In a small bowl, combine milk and oatmeal. Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes until steaming hot, but not boiling. Add mashed banana and mix until creamy. Garnish with walnuts.
