Signs of trouble are already here
I don’t know how this is possible, but a friend of mine says she doesn’t “believe in climate change.”
How can that be? She thinks the hurricanes and fires are tricks the media is playing on the naive people of the land. When I told her how bad the water in Midland is from all the oil rigs, she said, “I’ve been to Texas and I’ve never had a bad shower.”
She thinks big business is for the people, not just for the wealthy elite. She doesn’t see what factory farms are doing to the water supply, not to mention the appalling way the animals are treated. Wait, did I say treated? I meant to say abused. She thinks the fires are normal and not affected by the climate at all.
I don’t understand how, in this day and age, with all the science and all the news coverage, anyone could think that climate change is something we can “believe in” or not. She thinks it’s all a lie cooked up by liberals.
What is wrong with this picture? Wait, the rising sea level is obstructing my view. Could you move a little further to the right so I can read your signs? No, not that way, there are floods there. No. Not that way either, the fires are too bad there. Never mind. There is no other place to go.

People of color suffer more than lost TV
America does not have to be full of racists to have a situation of long-standing racial injustice.
All that is needed is a political contingent that maintains power by pursuing this agenda.
Michael Reagan, in his Sept. 6 column, spends a lot of space listing outstanding examples of achievements by people of different racial backgrounds. However they are exceptions to the rule.
Reagan is very upset that the Black Lives Matter movement has received so much coverage on TV.
An excellent source that reveals the way Blacks have had rights denied since the end of the Civil War is the book “Slavery By Another Name.”
The way to correct the abysmal way people of color have been treated is to honestly and publicly address it and correct the wrongs. They only want to be treated as American citizens.
Reagan is upset because it has interfered with his TV for a short time. The people of color have been suffering in many ways for centuries.
