Clovis police investigating Sunday homicide

CLOVIS -- Police are investigating the death of a 38-year-old woman shot Sunday night in the 1500 block of Echols Avenue.

Tchicaya Williams was found on the floor of an apartment, police said.

According to a Clovis police news release:

At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, police received a 911 call of shots fired at the apartment complex. The caller reported three shots having been fired and that a person in the apartment had been struck by gunfire.

Officers made contact with the caller and were directed to the victim who died at the scene.

The Major Crimes Unit was activated. Police ask that anyone having information related to the death call them at 575-769-1921.
