Recital will include the world premiere of “Day Trips,” an eight-movement work by Dr. B.J. Brooks, ENMU alumnus and current professor of music at West Texas A & M University. • Deadline to donate items for the Cannon Air Force Base Annual Holiday Goodie Drop — Collecting pre-packaged donations of microwave popcorn, hot chocolate mix, packaged doughnuts, chocolates and candies, trail mix, holiday sweets to be distributed to Airmen living in dorms at CAFB. Donations accepted 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Salvage and Sparkle, 112 W. 21st St., Clovis, or 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce, 100 S. • Coronation ceremony for Little Mr. and Miss Clovis Sparkle — 6 p.m., State Theater, 504 N. Main, Clovis. Event will be streamed online. Sponsored by Clovis/Curry County Chamber. Voting continues at local businesses through Wednesday. All contestants will be on a float in the Clovis MainStreet Christmas Lights Parade Cruise on Saturday. Information: 575-763-3435

• Roosevelt County Christmas “Reverse” Light Parade — 6-7 p.m., Portales. Floats will be lined up from Abilene south past City Park back to Third on Chicago past the soccer field. Floats will not move; visitors are invited to drive past them, following COVID safe practices. • Clovis MainStreet Christmas Lights Parade Cruise: “The Nightmare Before Christmas” — 6-8 p.m., Main Street from 14th to Grand, Clovis. Main Street will be closed at 5 p.m. to allow for decorated floats to be set up along Main Street. Beginning at 6 p.m., drivers may enter at 14th Street to drive southbound to Grand to view the parade, or at Grand to drive northbound to 14th. This is a driving event only; no parking needed.
