Landfill, reuse, sewer fees to increase

CLOVIS — The city of Clovis has amended city code to reflect 5% increases in landfill, reuse and sewer fees, which take effect Jan. 1.

The changes came following the Clovis City Commission’s Dec. 3 approval of an ordinance to approve those increases as recommended by its revenue review committee.

The change will also transition garbage and sewer accounts from quarterly to monthly billing. The change will take place immediately for new accounts, and accounts that received bills in November and December will be billed in Feburary and March.

Among the new monthly rates:

• Residential garbage rates will be $16.61 per month, or $12.65 per dwelling for multi-family dwellings.

• The monthly sewer rate will be $.04 per drain, with a minimum bill for $10.20 for up to five drains.
