CLOVIS - The Clovis Fire Department needed about an hour to knock out a house fire Saturday morning on the 1900 block of Howard Drive.
The home was a total loss, along with some vehicles on the property. However, Lt. John Bradley of the CFD said, there were no injuries or deaths reported.
Residents on the scene told The News the occupants of the house came over to a neighbor's to call the fire department, and it was their understanding the fire was accidental. However, Bradley said, the cause remains under investigation.
The call came to the department at 8:28 a.m., and was under control at 9:25 a.m.
"Our main concern was just exposures, the house next door," Bradley said. "We wanted to protect (the surrounding areas)."
Beyond the tight space between the engulfed home and neighboring properties, Bradley said there were no unusual aspects to the blaze.
