Eastern New Mexico received some much-needed moisture this past weekend.

Snowfall reports from the National Weather Service in Albuquerque show areas in Curry County receiving 0.5 to 2.8 inches, and in Roosevelt County 0.2 inches to 2.5 inches.

Saturday saw a high of 33 degrees in Clovis, with temperatures dipping to 27 degrees Sunday morning and peaking at 30 degrees that evening.

The winter storm began with reports of heavy freezing drizzle and fog rolling in Saturday evening. Freezing rain gave way to light snow early Sunday morning and continued until 10 a.m.

The snowfall stuck around through Tuesday as temperatures stayed in the low 30s throughout Monday and winds remained below 10 mph with brief gusts at 14 mph from Sunday through Monday.

A severe weather update by AccuWeather stated that the maximum observed snowfall from the storm system was 11 inches in Denver City, Texas. Roosevelt and Curry County received less than AccuWeather's 3 to 6 inch estimates for the area.

An area just outside of Magdalena reported the highest snowfall amount in New Mexico, with 7.5 inches from the winter storm on Sunday, according to the NWS. Mountainair reported the next highest with an average of 5.6 inches. Reports of snowfall reached as far south as Roswell, which saw nearly an inch from the storm.
